Jack and White premiere "Double Trouble" music video!

Yahoo Music premieres Jack and White's new music video for their single "Double Trouble". This video is fun and playful, just like the song! With a variety of different scenarios, this video is confusing, yet so intriguing. It's random, and it's exactly the kind of music video this song needs and that Brooke White and Jack Matranga would provide. Watch below:

Interview with Guitarist Asaf Rodeh

Asaf Rodeh is a guitarist and music producer, playing for artists like Melinda Ortner and Mika Ben-Yami, and just added to the list is David Archuleta. Asaf just recently joined David's band, and took the time to do this interview with me. Get to know Asaf and get a glimpse of what he's going to bring to the "Archuband" while touring with David.

1. It was recently made known that you’ve been added to David Archuleta’s band, or the “Archuband”, as fans like to call it. How did this gig come about?
I auditioned for the band a few months ago, kept in touch with them and a few weeks ago got called to join the band.

Credit to I Be TinaB on flickr
2. How was your first full show with David at the Arizona concert?
The show was awesome!! It's really fun to play with David, he's an amazing artist and the nicest guy I've met. The band is great and the fans were amazing!

3. How long have you been playing the guitar?
Hard for me to believe but I started playing almost 19 years ago. I was 11 years old.

4. When was the first time you performed in front of an audience?
My first show was at some kind of a boy scout event. I was playing for probably a year at the time so I had to make it look like I knew what I was doing. Very soon after that I started playing with different bands.

5. What other gigs/projects have you had before playing for David?
Besides being a guitar player I'm also a music producer and recently finished working on an album for a cool new artist called Melinda Ortner (https://www.facebook.com/melindaortnermusic), Another great artist I play with is Mika Ben-Yami, http://mikabenyami.com, which also happens to be my beautiful girlfriend:)

6. How is working solo different from working with a band?
I always feel that working solo is more challenging and demanding both technically and as a performer, where It's your full responsibility and there's no band to "hide" behind. On the other hand it's always amazing to create something with other people, where each person brings something and you create something together.

7. Which do you prefer playing, acoustic or electric?
I love both! It would be really hard to choose if I had to. I love how warm and organic an acoustic guitar is, but then not a lot of things can beat plugging in the electric and rocking out!

8. What kind of music/musicians inspire you?
Too many to name... I find inspiration in many styles and musicians, regardless of the style, I'm always looking for that truth in music that is not easy to find yet you can't ignore.

9. What are words you live by?
Honesty, Integrity, Hard work

10. What are your plans for the future?
For the near future I hope to get to tour a lot with David and his band. Besides I hope to stay lucky and keep making a living producing and playing music for many years!

11. Where can people keep up with you? Website, Facebook, Twitter?
Website: http://asafrodeh.com/
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=635037577
Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/AsafRodeh
Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/Asafrog

12. Do you have a message to the Archie fans who are now supporting you?
Keep being awesome!

Thanks again to Asaf for taking the time to do this interview, and I look forward to seeing more of you in David's band, as well as your other projects!

Kelly Clarkson's "Mr. Know It All" Music Video!

Just last week I posted the 'making of' video of Kelly's new music video for her single "Mr. Know It All", and now here it is!

It's obvious that there are many different sides Kelly, including this more deep and assertive side. I love the different aspects of the video, with the "Wall of Doubt" and the obvious "criticism" she was reading about her single. This video seems to be more personal and is definitely one of my favorites!

Gets my mood up, but calms me down too

Upon seeing this tweet from David Archuleta earlier, it got me thinking - what music gets my mood up, but calms me down too? Well one I know for sure is David's music. His album The Other Side of Down, for me, is the definition of what he described. Every song on that album is uplifting yet calming, and is perfect for any occasion. From the positive "The Other Side of Down" to the enjoyable "Parachutes And Airplanes" to the inspirational "Things Are Gonna Get Better", every song on that album puts you in a different mindset and gets you pondering about your life as the music takes you on a journey into David's view of life. David's wisdom and positive outlook that shines through in these songs definitely always puts me in a good mood and calms me down, and I'm sure a lot of Archie fans would agree.

Carly Smithson to star in The Final Act

Carly Smithson, best known for coming in 6th place on American Idol's seventh season and now in the band We Are The Fallen, is set to make her acting debut in the upcoming film, The Final Act.

Picture this. Six actors - so hungry for fame they can taste it. But, they only have 24 hours to prove how much. Among them is the best performer of them all - a killer with the acting role of a lifetime...Can they work out who it is? Is fame really worth dying.

Six actors are in a terrifying race against the clock, they have only 24 hours as they are put through the most horrifying tests to find out who is not an actor out of the cast, but in fact a killer orchestrating this sick game.

Carly will play one of the film's main characters, Chloe. Among the cast will be April Marie Eden, Leslie Easterbrook, Jesse Woodrow, Jason Stojanovski, John Posey and David Landry, and written and directed by Chloe Finch. More info on The Final Act HERE.

Song Review: Enation - The Rushing Wind

Among the great new music that's out today is the new single from Enation called "The Rushing Wind". Off of their new album My Ancient Rebellion, out October 11th, "The Rushing Wind" is an enjoyable mix of edge, soul, and with what even sounds like a hint of groove in there. Jonathan Jackson, aka Lucky Spencer on General Hospital, definitely shows off his strong, endearing voice in this song, especially throughout the chorus. With the perfect combination of vitality and intriguing lyrics, this is a great choice for a first single that'll leave you wanting to come back for more. Frankly, I can't take it off repeat!

After you buy "The Rushing Wind" on iTunes, be sure to stop over to Enation's About.Me page and vote for them to be About.Me's new face and be on a                                                         billboard in NYC! Today is the last day to vote, so head on over before you're                                                     too late!

Album Review: Demi Lovato - Unbroken

Demi Lovato is back with a brand new album, Unbroken, out today. As much as I love Demi and her previous albums, some of the songs on this album confused me, mainly the duets. Collaborating with hip hop artists like Dev on "Who's That Boy?" and Iyaz on "You're My Only Shorty", among others, and singing in a genre that's unfamiliar to her was a mistake in my opinion. I thought Unbroken was supposed to represent Demi's maturity and strength, and the first four songs on this album are anything but that.

Tracks 5-15 on the other hand, are the Demi I know and love, and with that mature and strong sound I was looking for. Some songs are soulful like the moving "Lightweight" and inspiring "Skyscraper", some are pop like the funky "Unbroken" and "Hold Up", and some are pop ballads like the deep "Fix A Heart" and the emotional "For The Love of a Daughter". Then there's even a dash of a more R&B feel with "My Love is Like a Star". All together the perfect blend of Demi's better sounds with good songs and her unique and powerful voice.

These sad but inspirational songs go deep into the heart of Demi, and this album seems like it was her way to divulge to the world things that she's never been able to utter before. These songs have a realness to them unlike any of Demi's songs in the past. Though this album had some songs a little different from what I expected, I really enjoyed the last 10 out of the 15 and there's definitely a few favorites in there for me. With the good outweighing the bad, all in all, it's an acceptable comeback album.

Hot Chelle Rae performs on So Random

Hot Chelle Rae performed a more "Disney Channel friendly" version of their popular song "Tonight, Tonight" on tonight's new episode of So Random. The band changed most of the second verse of their song to make it more appropriate for younger audiences. Watch below:

David Archuleta sings his heart out on patriotic songs at Constitution Fair

Last night, David Archuleta headlined the Constitution Fair in Gilbert, Arizona. Though David sang a full set, he first came out and sang the National Anthem, which seemed to be one of the highlights of the night. Normally singing only the first verse of the song, David changed it up and sang the last, more uncommon verse of the song, and seemed to blow the entire audience away.
Watch below, and be sure to listen for an excited "He was fantastic!" at the very end:

There's just something about the way David sings patriotic songs; he puts something into those performances that no one else does, and makes you really feel the meaning of the song. Don't know what I mean? Listen below as David sings his own patriotic medley of "My Country 'Tis of Thee" and America The Beautiful from last night:

And if that's not enough, this performance of God Bless America is just breathtaking. Really, he's performed this song countless of times, but nothing compares to this version in my opinion. You can tell he's putting his all into this song, with his strong, beautiful voice and the amazing affect it has, this performance is absoluetly stunning.

Demi Lovato performs "Skyscraper" half English/half Spanish at ALMA Awards 2011

Not only was Demi Lovato among the winners at the ALMA Awards 2011, winning the award for Favorite TV Actress - Leading role in a Comedy for starring in Sonny With A Chance, but Demi also was one of the performers. Demi performed her new single "Skyscraper" off of her third studio album, out Tuesday. Demi, dressed in a beautiful red dress with an intriguing prop behind her - the look of a dark night and a tree, with hearts, some broken and some full, hanging off of it's leafless branches - performed the first half of the song in English, then sang the second verse and chorus in Spanish for the night's theme, then ended the song in English as she rose up on a small ledge, above the tree.

Big Time Penguins?

This past Tuesday the guys of Big Time Rush spent the day in the recording studio... and no, not for a new album this time. Kendall, James, Carlos and Logan lent their voices to four animated beavers for an upcoming episode of the Nickelodeon series Penguins of Madagascar.

James later tweeted about the experience, "So I just did a voice over for Penguins of Madagascar...one of the coolest things I have done in a long time!"

Can't wait for the episode!

Song Review: Daughtry - Renegade

Is there a Daughtry song that isn't good? My first thought when hearing this was that it's a bit different from Daughtry's previous singles. It's faster and upbeat compared to the more soft rock vibe they've had in the past, but this sound definitely does not disappoint! This edgy, rock song showcases a rougher voice from Chris Daughtry, and the rocker in him, that is sometimes hidden, definitely appears. Even though it's a brusque rock anthem, this song still has expressive lyrics and an infectious beat. This song is completely raucous, and I mean that in the best way possible!

You can pre-order Daughtry's new album and listen to "Renegade" HERE!

Enation tweets their new album cover!

Enation tweeted earlier their album cover for their new album My Ancient Rebellion, out October 11th!

Enation's Richard Lee also had this to say about the cover:
Here is our album cover for 'My Ancient Rebellion'. We are really thrilled with it! I wanted to let you in on the creative process, how the cover came about. Originally, I was going to try and design something, and the options I came up with were good, but after contemplation we decided that we should involve the brilliant work of Gary Kelly, who works out of Dublin, Ireland and has worked on many high profile designs including one of our favorite artists, the iconic U2. We had worked with Gary several times over the years and knew his keen eye and artistic sensibilities would benefit us greatly. We let Gary know that we wanted a design that told a story. We love the artwork on 'World in Flight' but felt that 'My Ancient Rebellion' was a more cinematic, non-linear album both sonically and thematically. Jonathan wanted to capture something in the cover design that felt ancient, that told a story that feels as though it has been around for ages. After looking around for images that seemed to resonate with us, including some of Rembrandt's paintings, we came across a 17th century painting LANDSCAPE WITH THE GOOD SAMARITAN
BY GIOVANNI ANDREA DONDUCCI (aka, MASTELLETTA). It was a breathtaking image created hundreds of years ago. It's vast in it's scope and yet tells a very personal story. This album is in many ways about coming to the realization that to live in love and compassion is the greatest rebellion of all. This masterful painting by the 17th century Italian painter seems to capture the spirit of that rebellion in all it's beauty and madness.

We hope you enjoy it, and the music that's to come.
Love is an Action,
Richard Lee

I love how deep and insightful Enation always is about their music :)

Song Review: David Guetta featuring Usher - Without You

After just hearing this song for the first time a few minutes ago, I have to say, it's way better than I expected. "Without You", the David Guetta and Usher collab on Guetta's new album Nothing but the Beat, is the perfect mix of dance-pop and emotion as they sing about life without that one special person. One second it's a deep ballad and the next it's the perfect dance club beat, and the two fit together perfectly in this song. Upbeat and radio friendly with meaningful and relatable lyrics, what's not to love? For me, this song is a must-listen!

Album Review: Mormon Tabernacle Choir with David Archuleta - Glad Christmas Tidings

Celebrate Christmas early this year with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's new holiday album Glad Christmas Tidings, featuring David Archuleta, out today!

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir alone is uplifting and full of holiday spirit in tracks such as "Three Dancing Carols" and "A Christmas Roundelay". But if that's not enough, David Archuleta lends his voice to half of the songs, and as some have said, David's voice was made for Christmas music. Already having released his own Christmas album, this year David's back with his take on some different holiday tunes like "The Cat and The Mouse Carol" and "Los Pastores a Belen" in Spanish, along with classics like "Joy To The World" and "Silent Night". David always has a majestic yet joyful sound to his voice when singing holiday songs, and there's just something about David singing along with the MoTab Choir that's, and this may sound cheesy, but magical.

This album will captivate you and get you right in the holiday spirit, even if it is September! In my opinion, it's never too early for Christmas music!

Song Review: Kelly Clarkson - Mr. Know It All

Kelly Clarkson is back and better than ever! "Mr. Know It All" is the first single off of Kelly's new album Stronger, due out in October. As she says in the song, "You don't know a thing about me" Well, I definitely didn't know a thing about this side of Kelly! She seems to have taken it down a notch, different from her singles in the past, this song is less rock and instead is deep and powerful with more of a message.

In my opinion, I like this sound from Kelly a lot better than her usual loud, rock songs. This song is softer and Kelly's voice sounds more fierce, bringing the sass, but still in a profound way.

Judging by this song, it seems this album may be a little deeper, and definitely stronger!

Concert Review: Big Time Rush with Hot Chelle Rae at Hampton Beach

The city was definitely theirs last night at the sold out Big Time Rush show in Hampton, NH! BTR had fans wrapped around the Casino Ballroom at Hampton Beach, waiting outside for hours to get good standing-room-only spots! Ranging from little kids and their parents to teenagers, the place was packed! Everywhere you looked you saw BTR shirts, some official and some homemade saying things like "Mrs James Maslow" and one plastered with Logan!

After a lot of standing and waiting all day, the guys finally came out on stage and the crowd was ecstatic! The entire time the guys were energetic and very connected with the audience, waving and touching hands, and James even threw his shirt to the crowd! The guys danced even more than they do on their show and James and Logan did their famous back flips! Kendall also engaged the crowd by standing up on the tables set up, getting even closer to the audience and Carlos said numerous times how great the crowd was. The guys also made a point to let everyone know about their new album that'll be out soon, the Big Time Rush Movie their filming this fall and Season 3 of their show coming soon!

After performing some of their popular, upbeat songs from their album, the guys took it down a bit and performed an acoustic version of "Stuck" with Kendall on guitar. After they performed a cover of the Beatles' "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and then chose a young girl to serenade "Worldwide" to! They sat her in between Logan and James and after being serenaded by each one and even getting a kiss from Kendall, you could tell the guys had definitely made her night a big night!

After a short break, the guys came back out and performed more of their hits like "Nothing Even Matters" and "Boyfriend" then ended with "The City is Ours" as confetti fell into the audience. Moments after leaving the stage, the crowd cheered and the guys came back out for one final song, their encore of "Halfway There". After the show, fans gathered around their tour bus in hopes to see the guys walk out, and they did not disappoint as each of them walked out, waving and touching some hands.

These guys put on a big time awesome show and it was a great way to end the summer!

One last thing, I must make note of how awesome the opening act Hot Chelle Rae was! I had never heard their music before last night, and I was pleasantly surprised. The lead singer, RK Follese, has a great voice and was also very connected to the crowd, throwing guitar picks and even jumping into the audience! They performed a cover of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" and ended with their popular song "Tonight Tonight", among others, and I must say that after last night I am now a fan!
