Demi Lovato covers Seventeen Magazine, talks self-medicating, friends and future plans

Demi Lovato has had many ups and down within the last year, going from rehab for emotional and physical issues to coming out on top with a #1 album. The singer is now the face of the February issue of Seventeen Magazine, where talks her past self-medication habits, who current lifestyle and how friends Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus got her through the hard times.

Though Demi admits to Seventeen that she used to shamefully drink and do drugs to numb her pain, that's not the case anymore. “I don’t drink, I don’t do drugs, I don’t throw up after my meals, I don’t starve myself. There’s nothing that I do that I feel ashamed of.”

The "Give Your Heart A Break" singer also spills about her best friend Selena Gomez, as well as former Disney starlet Miley Cyrus, being there for her through the rough times. “There were two people who were there for me," she says. "Miley Cyrus and I are very strong-headed, so when we fight, it’s brutal and we’re like, ‘We’re never going to be friends again!’ Then two days later, we’re like, ‘I love you and I miss you!’" Demi goes on to talk about her best friend and Princess Protection Program co-star, "Selena and I, we never fight. She’s not a confrontational person at all. Both of them will never leave my life no matter what happens, because we’ve been through so much together.”

And what's next for Demi? "I have so much to look forward to, " she shares. "From little everyday things, like where I'm going to go shopping with my friends, to big things, like heading out on the road, or even really long-term things, like what my next big project will be."
