Yesterday was David Archuleta's first day on set of Nandito Ako, a Filipino mini series David will be starring in. David made a video blog before filming scenes for the show, saying, "This is my first time ever doing an acting experience other than being myself."
As the day came to an end, David tweeted, "And it's a wrap for the 1st day of filming! Man, what a learning experience it's been already, haha. It all starts again tomorrow."

During the press conference, it was announced that the mini series will be called Nandito Ako, a popular song that David will be singing in Tagalog. David also revealed that he'll be playing Josh, who was separated from his mother at 5 years old due to a hotel fire. During the fire, he rescued a young girl (played by Jasmine or Eula).
David also discussed his plans to go on a two-year LDS mission soon, saying that this will be one of the last projects he does before heading off. David spilled that once he returns from the Philippines, he'll be recording as much music as he can to release while he's away. "Two years goes by fast.. I mean, it's been four years since American Idol." says David. Though he knows he'll have to make sacrifices, he'll definitely be continuing music when he returns. "Music is what I love to do, it's what I plan to do for the rest of my life."
David will begin the two week filming process tomorrow, and the five-week long show will be airing on TV5 in late February.

David Archuleta to star in Philippines primetime series
David Archuleta seems to have a few things up his sleeve before leaving on his LDS mission. It's been announced that the singer will be starring in a primetime series on TV5 in the Philippines. David is scheduled to arrive in Manila on January 13, and is rumored to be filming for three weeks with known Filipino actresses Jasmin Curtis Smith and Eula Caballero.
The name of the series or what it will be about is yet to be announced, but there's talk that David will be playing a boyfriend.
David said in an interview with Forbes last month that he would be doing "acting things" this year, looks like this is it!

Song Review: David Archuleta - Everything And More
Believe it or not, it’s almost been a year since David Archuleta’s sophomore album The Other Side of Down was released. From that album the singer had three great singles, “Something ‘Bout Love”, “Elevator” and “Falling Stars”, that thanks to this incoherent society and hardcore music industry, did not do as well as they should have.
Now, almost a year since the “Something ‘Bout Love” release, David’s back with a brand new song. “Everything And More” is David’s new single which is part of the re-release of The Other Side of Down in Asia. A radio friendly pop ballad, with the perfect mixture of emotion and intensity in David’s voice as he shows off a different part of his vocal ability with his new, more mature sound.
As most of David’s songs, “Everything And More” is about being high up, feeling so great that you’re defying gravity with that one person. Something I’ve always enjoyed about David’s songs is that as relationship-like as they sound, that’s hardly ever the case. As much as “Zero Gravity”, “Parachutes And Airplanes” and this song sound like they could be about a significant other, in reality the songs could be about anyone in your life who makes you feel like you’re never coming down from that high they get you on.
Another thing I always point out and already have, is that this song is once again about being up high. That seems to be a consistent theme with David’s music as most of the songs he’s written have to do with being high up or things that move up high. “Elevator”, “Parachutes And Airplanes”, “Zero Gravity” and of course “The Other Side of Down” state my case here. And though the title doesn’t sound like it, “Everything And More” too is in the same category.
Strong, pop ballads are what David has always been best at since American Idol and still to this day. Hearing his voice soar as it overpowers a beautiful piano melody will never cease to captivate, and that is true with this new song. This song is sure to do great as it’s definitely everything and more.
